The city of Berkeley continues to fail to prioritize people over policing. Now, as ever, we can’t let City government – and our fellow community members – forget Kayla.
Come march with us and help us make some noise in the streets of Berkeley before heading to the City Council meeting.
We remember Kayla and we want accountability. But instead of accountability, the city of Berkeley is filing a motion to dismiss Kayla’s family’s case. It’s past time for our so-called progressive city government to start valuing and stop dismissing Kayla’s life and the lives of so many people who are Black, Brown, trans, poor, disabled and/or have mental health challenges.
We need community, counselors and mental health care, not killer cops!
